“Ebony was a wonderful host. The place was clean with fresh towels and snacks when I checked in. Whenever I did have any issues [Rooms at Emerald Home] were quick to respond and took care of it within the next day or two. The house has 5 bedrooms. 4 of the rooms have parking spaces. Two are the two spots in front of the house and 2 as visitor passes. Closest grocery stores are Shoprite and Giant. If you’re a medical student who will be rotating at White Oak Medical Centre, this place is perfect, hospital is within 7-8min drive. Walking distance to hospital is about 35-45minutes depending on weather. Free washer and dryer, kitchen, wifi also included with the place.”

This duplex houses ~10 occupants which are split in half on each floor (this room is on the top floor). The common areas and room are furnished so this home is great for long-distance travelers. “ I recently stayed at [Rooms at Emerald Home] for a month due to a school rotation at the FDA. The biggest perk of this listing was it's location. My daily commute to the FDA was around 5-10 minutes, the entrance/exit to the highway is essentially at the end of the street, and a complex containing a grocery store/Starbucks/Chipotle is also on the same street (~1 min drive). Ebony was a very responsive host and thoroughly answered all of my questions throughout the month. The room was clean and spacious, with more than enough room to house my odds and ends for the month. There was even room for my bike in the house's carport which was nice. It was my first experience with shared housing, but the bathroom and kitchen allowed enough space for everyone to do their own thing without getting in each other's way. I'm really into meal prepping and had no problem keeping up with it during my stay. The granite countertops and natural gas were a real touch of luxury. All of the housemates were nice, very helpful if I needed something, and made great conversation. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone that's coming through the Silver Spring area because Ebony is amazing and the house is great! “

“I stayed about two weeks at [Rooms at Emerald Home] with my two cats. It was very clean and quiet place. Many Airbnb places do not accept pets. But Ebony kindly welcomed my cats as well. When one of my cats had gone missing, Ebony took her time to help find her. Ebony is also very responsible and she quickly responded all questions I asked. “I stayed at [Rooms at Emerald Home] for two months while I was working as an intern for the USDA (reviewer's daughter). The inside of the house is really lovely- great kitchen and bathroom(s)! I appreciated the private door to the outside in my room. The other people who live in the house are nice- you don't see anyone too often, but that's fine. A long-term tenant is awesome- he brings mail/packages in if he gets home first, and takes out the garbage and handles all the cleaning services. He is really nice. Ebony, of course, is kind and it is easy to bring any concerns you have to her. Thank you for a great stay!“

“Ebony is very kind and I was quite surprised at how well kept the house was, the kitchen and bathroom in particular were nicer than those of any other place I've lived. Central air kept everything very comfortable during a heat wave. I really enjoyed getting to know the others staying at the house, one of whom was so good-hearted as to drive me to the airport at 5AM. The location is right by a supermarket and a shuttle stop for the FDA, which was as convenient for me as it could get. Desk space was great for getting stuff done while in the room, and I had plenty of places to store luggage and organize clothes and belongings. Overall, great experience!“

“I stayed about 3 months in this room during my internship in the area. Ebony is very friendly and helpful. She responds very quickly. This particular room is pretty small, but it was enough for me since I was living there by myself. There are also other bigger rooms in the house that are available. Kitchen area is great, very upscale furnishing and includes everything such as dishwashers, a large fridge for everyone to use and plenty of counter space. The people that live there are usually interns who stay for couple months. There are also long term tenants in the house. During my stay I did not have a car and depended on public transportation. There is a bus stop about 5 mins of walk away. K6 and 20 lines are available that go to Fort Totten and Silver Spring metro stations. Overall I enjoyed my stay.“

“I stayed here for a 5-week pharmacy school rotation at the FDA and had a comfortable stay. The location is great, only a 5 min drive to the FDA, and there is a shopping center at the end of the street. There are multiple people living here at a given time, but since everyone has their own room, you don't see anyone very often. It is very quiet here for the most part, both indoors and the neighborhood in general. This is a nice place to stay long term if you have internships/jobs in the area. The house is spacious and has a really nice kitchen with plenty of counter/cabinet space and high quality appliances. Ebony was a great host and was always easy to reach whenever I had questions.“
